The Month that Was and Some Life Updates

The month of August just went by that fast and I can't even believe that the first week of September is coming to an end already. So where was I the whole month of August? One word to describe it is FULL PACKED.

Here's why:
August is my son's birth month. This year we decided to let go of the party type of celebration and opted for somethig education and which Enzo and his other cousins will truly enjoy. I'll make a separate post about Enzo's educational second year birthday celebration.

August is the start of another semester in my Masters degree. It came so fast I was overwhelmed by the schoolworks I had to do simultaneously with work. My subjects this term are Advance Studies on Child Developmet and Statistics in Research Studies. Both are exciting but are critical to my degree, so I had to put a lotnof time and work on it.

August ended our transition term in the school where I am teaching and started the new term after 3 (three) days!!! Can you imagined how immediate that was?

Really feel frustrated at the rate that the blog was making but I am determined to move on from this hiatus. Hopefully you'll still join me in my journey, I promise to make the ride worthwhile.;)

What to look forward to this coming days?

Child development tips and lessons.
I love sharing what I learn from my masteral so I thought of writing it here on the blog too. It's going to help me review the lessons and might be helpful to some of your motherhood or parenting wors too!

Free online courses and workshops. I love learning anything that interests me, but what I love more than that is free education. Found and joined some sites that offer free online courses so I am sharing them to all of you too.

Homeschooling Adventure. Enzo and I startd homeschooling so I'll try to post about our lessons and resources too.

More product reviews. Thought of doing more baby product reviews and share some of our cheap but quality finds.

Deals online with Ensogo. I enjoy online shopping and Ensogo is my usual go to sites to buy the best deals there is.

More music, health, and fitness. As a media partner of BennyBunnyBand, expect that a lot of posts about the music and gigs will be posted here too startong September. In addition, as a contributor to Health Junkie Ph I'll be wring there more about health and fitness.

So cheers to more posts and projects!!!;)

Health Junkie PH:Live Longer, Stronger Together

Well if you've been following me on my blog and other social media accounts, you'd probably know that I am now a proud member and contributor of Health Junkie PH. I could not have been happier with this blogging milestone and I think I just became a Health Junkie, literally.

I am a sporty kinda girl, my childhood days were spent playing sports like swimming, ballet, taekwondo, and just about anything I can think of. Even when I started college and working I made it a point to maintain a healthy and active body. The problem with me though is consistency and motivation.

I wasnt comfortable working out alone and I often just give up when I feel my body's sores and aches. I always had excuses like "Running isn't my thing" or "I don't like being in a gym, it's boring", or "I don't have the time cause I'm a mom" just so I would not work out. It was only when I felt tired and frustrated chasing my toddler did I realize that working out is not just about getting abs and having toned muscles, it really is more than that.

We started our CCP jogging routine as a family.

I already said this in my previous fitness posts that I like to LIVE LONGER for my child and family, and working out is my only option. It was coincidental with this realization that free dance classes were offered in school which suited my sched. A week after our dance class I got invited to be part of Health Junkie PH and I was elated. I knew it would require work but I was more excited to be with people who share the same interest on health, beauty, fitness and wellness. I am glad to have found people who inspires me to achieve my best self and to enjoy sweating out. I am inspired by their journey to fitness and of course their toned bodies.

I am just grateful to be with a group who will help me achieve my goal of living longer and teaching my child the value of healthy and active lifestyle.

Thank you, Health Junkie PH, especially to Tonette Nicolas, for making me part of your team. My future body, children, and family says thank you as well. I already have a support group in Team Health Junkie PH, to live longer, and stronger together!

Life Lessons I learned from my Papa

Today is a special day for fathers all over the world. Their sacrifices, effort, and existence are given significance today. So today aside from the overflowing facebook posts about celebrating fathers' day, let me share with you lessons of life I learned from my father.

I am a Daddy's girl. When I was little I would wait for him to get home before I could go to sleep. I was his buntot, wherever he was I was there too. Even as I grew older, we would always have chat and share stories with one another. When I was living in Manila I always made sure I had pasalubong movie or documentary for him coming home to Bulacan. He was not only my father, he was also my bestfriend.

Now, being a parent, I realized how alike we are and I guess that's his influence on me showing. I learned a lot from him that I take as my personal principles as well. These principles and lessons has proven to be of high importance in my life.

1. Bilib sa Sarili. My father believed in all of us and he trusts in our own decisions and diskarte in life. He knows we can overcome troubles and challenges we face. In his eyes we are the smartest, prettiest, and nicest kids possible. I thank him for that confidence.

2. Cowboy. I am not the most sosyal person, most times I am socially awkward in formal or sosyal occassions. But what I take pride in is my being Cowboy. Something I got from my father. He taught us to enjoy all experiences and not to be too maselan. With that I know I can survive anywhere.

3. Sense of Humor. My dad's the joker in his group of friends. He makes funnybremarks and pangaasar that I took after. My cheerfulness came from him and I enjoy being this way, always positive and having a light disposition.

4. Importance of Friendship. I always thought that if my dad entered politics in our barangay he could actually win! That's because I get surprised that he has friends of all sorts of people in our neighborhood. He can even make friends with people he just met. That is why when I meet people I appreciate their friendship and do eveything I can to be a friend.

5. Love for simplicity and family. My papa has the simplest dreams and wishes. When I was little he only always wanted a wallet for Christmas. He wanted just delicious food and times together with he family. He enjoys his time with plants and his farm. He was the happiest when we are all together as one family.

Now as I start my own family I always keep in mind my father. His principles in life are worth hanging on to and passing to our children. It was hard for me to understand him when I was younger but I am grateful he never gave up on me. He always knew I was a good daughter although at times I hurt him. He made me feel that I am a good daughter and mother. Who I am as a parent and as a person I owe to him. Happy Fathers day Papa and we love you!;)

Rockin' my 30th Birthday!

It has been a week after my 30th birthday, and I still could not get over the fun surprises my hubby and some friends did for me. Thanks again everyone you all made me feel very special.

The blessings started pouring, Wednesday, the 28th where from masters school I decided to treat myself to my favorite burrito near, Gregory Park Serious Grub.

What took me by surprise was that the people from Gregory Park recognized me from this blog. That was sooooo cooooollll! I have never been recognized for a blogpost I did before. The best part was that they did not let me pay for my take outs! That was really something, and I was estatic. I wrote the food review just because I love their food and it was noticed. Feeling serious blogger na talaga ako. :)

29th of January.

I attended Manulife's Bundle of Joy and got Enzo free life insurance worth 100k for one year. Click here to know how you can get yours.  I also got to seen Delamar in person. #girlcrush And met new blogger friends as well. I got to meet Lhyzie Bongon who I just read online. Cool right? Visit her blog here too:

The food served was also delicious. It was from Chef Jessie who cooked for Pope Francis. It was heaven and I'd bet Pope Francis enjoyed his meals too.

Last but not the least, I won the raffle and got GCs too!:) Thanks to Manulife for the GCs I got to buy myself an induction cooker!

Raffle Prize and Giveaways
Yey for induction cooker!:)

Then in the evening I attendef my first ever Zomato foodie meet up at Wild Ginger where I met the awesome people of Zomato and other bloggers too.

Repost from Elaine at Wild Ginger

I enjoyed the food and the company as well. Will post a review soon and please get Zomato and start discovering the best places to eat out!:)

Giveaways from Zomato!

Then the 30th day came, and though I had to teach for 6hours, it was still an amazing day. I was expecting that my hubby and I with little Enzo will just have a quiet dinner but I did not know I was in for a big surprise.

Excuse the #birthdayselfie, hubby made me wait for awhile at our house so might as well prettify, right? Okay, so as soon as they arrived I was already complaining that I wanted to eat already. So hubby and I rode the orange jeep and was expecting to go to Harbour square which was near to us. But we got off at Sev's Cafe and I was told it was cinema night. I got a little hunch as it was dark and there were no people around. Then everyone came out with a cake singing happy birthday to me. My family, relatives, colleagues, and friends were there. I was the happiest, most special, beautiful lady of the night. I could not be happier.

The surprise did not stop as they played a video of my throwback pictures. The BEST surprise were Kontra Tiempo and Benny Bunny Band. Been raving about them for months now, and I could not believe my hubby convinced them to play for my birthday. What's even more amazing was they agreed to play for me for the night. It was just amazing.

Treats from Benny Bunny Band, #perksofafangirl. An important milestone in my life happened in the company of people I love and admire. I am overwhelmed by the outpour of love I was given and I am to always do the same for them. 30 is just a number and I am looking forward to more adventures, surprises, and experience with my loved ones.

The people who made my 30th Rock!:)
