A Pasta Festa Celebration for the #AlDentePastaMonth

Pasta has become a Filipinos favorite. Any feast would not be complete without this dish and families have had a lot of good memories together with pasta. If you are a pasta lover like me, you'll know that this month of October is the World's Pasta Month.

In the country, Dona Elena AlDente Pasta has been celerating this occassion with Filipino pasta lovers, enthusiasts, home cooks and aspiring chefs alike with hefty appetite for pasta. The festivity was held in SM Mall of Asia last October 9 and was truly a feel of Italian Pasta!

The event features an Italian food fair, reminiscent of walking thru the food streets of Italy. We were given a Pasta Festa passport where we were asked to get it stamped by each booth to get a freebie. It was an exciting idea as we, with my companion Mommy arge, were able to go around the event and enjoy the yummy treats and games from all the booth.

Here are some of the booths we went to:

The official program started at around 3pm with a Pasta Art Workshop which demonstrated making art out of pasta shells. I did not know there was such a thing and it really was something exciting I could try or include in some of our parties at home. The fun was continued through different games with the audience like the Pasta eating contest, and other Pasta parlor games. Everyone came home full and happy with prizes and freebies. Of course, the festivity will not be complete without a learning-filled cooking demonstration from Chef Ben abernardo of Cafe aroyal and Pasta along with Chef Roberto Bellini. They highlighted that a great pasta dish starts with using a good pasta.

The fun day of merriment made possible by Dona Elena Al Dente Pasta was a success. It was made even more successful with all the media partners including Mommy Bloggers Philippines (www.mommybloggersphilippines.com).

Thank you, FlyAce Corporation and Dona Elena AlDente Pasta for the wonderful day! Thank you also to Mommy Bloggers Philippines for the opportunity!

K Palette 1 Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner Review

Having asian eyes is sometimes a struggle for me when it comes to eye make up. There are times that when I put on my eyeshadow, I feel like it is too heavy but when I open my eyes, it seems I did not put any. But I learned how to use eye makeup on my monolids through beauty bloggers, and attending free makeup workshops whenever possible. I also realized that to make my Asian eyes pop I had to really learn putting on my eyeliner.

A few months ago I got to try K Palette's product but it was only this month that I tried their eyeliner. I was using another brand so after finishing it up (yes, I am oc and practical like that) I started using K Palette's 1Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner.

Brush like eyeliner pen makes it easy to put on and does not prick the eyes.

Swatched with one stroke, two, and three strokes. Perfect for any type of eyeliner.

Here are some before and after photos:
No eyeliner on this photo just eyeshadow and mascara.
After photo: With K Palette 1 Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner

Closer look: Left without, Right with eyeliner

See how straight and clean my eyeliner is? Really amazing!;)

One more close up.
See how my eyes popped and opened up with eyeliner.

What I love about it:

1. Its brush makes it easier to draw my eyeliner as close to my lashes as possible. Does not hurt or prick my eyes because of the fine bristles it has. Now I don't have to cry or get teary eyed while putting my eyeliner.
2. The flat and fine tip of the brush enables you to draw thin to thick lines on your eyes. Great for those times you need to change your day to night make up.
3. Highly pigmented. You don't need to put on much cause its that pigmented.
4. Smudge proof. The problem with having monolids is that liquid eyeliners easily smudges so I have to wait a few minutes or dry it up in front of the fan. With K Palette 1 Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner, putting on liquid eyeliner has never been this easy for me. It does not smudge even if I brushy finger over it. No more messy eyes for my Asian eyes.
5. Easy to remove. Though it might be smudge proof, removing it isn't so hard. By just washing it with water or make up remover it gets off easily.
6. Cute pink packaging. It suits my pink makeup bag and I love how its soo Kawaii.
7. Price might be a little expensive but for a product that works and gives more than expected, I guess its an investment, plus its liquid so its going to go a long way.

So the verdict: K Palette 1Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner is a monolid or Asian Eyes partner, it makes it easier to put on eyeliner and play with it too. I recommend it for girls who like the natural fresh look and the "no retouch necessary" style. With the easy to apply, and long lasting effect of this liquid eyeliner, there really is a reason to believe that there is magic.

Messy (Bessy) Baby Bug Repellent Review

I get easily worried when Enzo gets sick or when he goes to unfamiliar territories. That means different places like when we are commuting, parks and playgrounds, or just about anywhere that is new for us. Especially now that dengue and other illnesses are rampant it is important for me to ensure that Enzo is safe.

Then I discovered Messy Bessy products in the Active Nation Day event I attended last September 27. (Check my post event  article here: The Active Nation Day by Lorna Jane at BGC http://www.thereyoujho.com/2015/10/blog-post.html)

I have seen their products before but did not dare to try it. Did not really find anything I needed during that time I guess. But, to my surprise they had a wide range of products that I did not notice before. What caught my attention was the Messy Baby products, and it was very timely as I was looking for a Mosquito Repellent.

I bought the Messy Baby Bug Repellent Cologne and here's some basic information about it:

This fresh smelling skin spray doubles as insect repellent that helps shoos away flying or crawling insects. It is a worry-free formula that is made with 100% natural ingredients, skin-safe, and deet-free!

How to Use:
Spray directly and evenly on all exposed skin. Repeat every 4 hours or when necessary. For sensitive skin, spray on clothes.

Ingredients:
Water, sugarcane alcohol, bergamot, vanilla, citronella, and eucalyptus essential oils.

My thoughts on Messy Baby Bug Repellent Cologne:

1. I love that it is not sticky like other repellants. It has a cologne form which I like because it dries fast and does not feel icky or slimy when it is hot or humid.

2. The scent is like a sweet perfume and the vanilla makes it even more perfect for toddlers and kids.

3. Affordable price for PHp180 for 200ml size. I just transfer it to an atomizer so I keep it in my own and my toddler's bag.

4. The organic and all natural ingredients makes it safe for babies and toddlers.

5. It is locally made. I love Pinoy products and supporting it. Now I have another brand to support and promote.

With this first amazing trial of Messy baby product, I am sure to try more of their products soon. For more information about other Messy Bessy products, check their social media accounts:

The Active Nation Day by Lorna Jane at BGC

enjoy working out and sweating but what becomes a great struggle for me is finding (or making) time for it. With all the things I juggle with, I often disregard working out and just make time to rest than to stay fit. However, I feel guilty not being able to give time for my fitness.

Luckily for me and thanks to my HealthJunkie.ph family, I got the opportunity to join the Lorna Jane Active Nation day at BGC.

The Active Nation Day is a movement created in 2012 by Lorna Jane to inspire women, and communities to live a more active lifestyle. The Active Nation Day is a simultaneuous activity in different countries that aims to commit peopl to put their health and fitness first and inspire others as well.

The Active Nation day here in Manila had Zumba, HIIT, and Yoga as part of the celebration.

It was my first time to encounter HIIT or the High Intensity Interval Workout. I joined half of the workout and I had an intense workout literally. I only was able to join for about ten minutes doing high knees, lunges, and squats. It also included jumping squats and jumping lunges. It was a short workout but it got me pumping for the entire day. I even had sore muscles even after two days. I guess that is why they call it high intensity.

Afterwards, to cool down all participants, Yoga was taught and it was perfect after a high intensity workout. It got my muscles relax a bit and my heart calm down.

Aside from the workouts, merchants were also in the event like Playground ( where they gave out free passes for all participants), Bayani brew, Messy Bessy, and Vitamix.

Thomas the Train 70th Birthday Bash!

Last Sunday, September 27, a famous train celebrated another milestone in his life. Fortunately, Enzo and I was guests in his momentous birthday. Thomas the Train celebrated his 70th birthday with a bang and surprised a lot of kids that day.

We arrived before the program started but the party has already started for most kids. There were a lot of activity area for kids like Coloring area, Facepaint, Film showig, A big Thomas the Train, and a Photo area. We had ample time to take some photos too.

The registration area. Guests are welcome to join the party with a minimum purchase of any Thomas and friends toy for Php500.

Happy 70th birthday, Thomas!;)

Got a lot of coloring papers in the arts table. Even adults had fun coloring too!

Enzo enjoyed playing with some Thomas and Friends toys and tracks available for playing. He also got to play with other kids too!
A film showing of some Thomas and Friends episodes also got Enzo's attention, and sat down with some of the kids there too.

Father and son riding Thomas the Train! Enzo was delighted to drive and ride Thomas!

Another photo with thes tar of the day, Thomas!;)

The program started with the parade of contestants for the costume contest. The costumes were all amazing and the parents are really admirable for the creativity and effort they put on their kids's costumes. Some looked realistic too!

Then a storytelling session got the kids participating and pretend-play like trains.

After which, the most awaited meet and greet happened as Sir TopHam Hat or the Fat Controller came out and dance for everyone. A photo op session came next and all the children were delighted.

Before the program ended, the best in costume were announced. The winners were all deserving because of their ingenuity and creativity. Thomas the Train would have been happy if he was able to see it.

The program ended with a birthday song and blowing of candles. Everyone went home happy and satisfied with all the activities from the event. Enzo went home with his new train toys and fun memories from Thomas the Train's 70th birthday!

Thank you RichPrime, Toy Kingdom, Moms who Blog Ph, and Ms. Glaiza of  www.moomymusings.com for the invite!Grab your Thomas and Friends trains and collectibles at all toy Kingsom and Toys R Us stores!
