UPDATED: Giveaway: Commenter of the Month
The mechanics are really very simple. To be my month's COM winner you need to give quality comments here in my blogsite. Quality comments should have relevance to the topic of the blogpost and not just the generic ones like "Thanks for the info" or "Good job!". You may ask questions or suggestions on what you would like to see more on the blog.
The more quality comments you have the more chance for me to get to know you and of course win too! :) We both win, right?:)

TMA's Parents Conference: Set Them Up for Success
As our little ones transition from infancy to toddler years, the growth of their brains is at a fast rate. It means that they absorb very well and could learn as much as they are taught. Although this is their nature, it is but important that they get the right stimulation in order to maximize this time in their life.
Given that, parents and caregivers have the biggest role in the development of children. It is fact that the family is the first classroom of a child. It is where the child learns basic concepts, values, and discipline that would be useful when they socialize with other people.
As the home is where a child learns first and foremost, the concept of homeschooling is prevalent. Many parents have seen the significance and advantage of homeschooling.
Admittedly, I have a lot to learn about Homeschooling. Although I was raised and educated in traditional school I am very interested in understanding what homeschooling and its difference from traditional school.
Fortunately, TMA will hold their 2015 Parents Conference entitled "Set Them Up For Success." This event is set to enlighten and inspire parents to raise their children to become happy, responsible, productive adults and leaders "wherever they are planted." It will run for a whole day and will consist of keynote topics like "Set Them Up for Success" and "Catching your Child's God-given Bents for Success". Keynote speakers are Edric Mendoza and Jayson Lo.
Mr. Edric Mendoza is a homeschooling father of five, the president of the Homeschoolers Association of the Philippine Islands and lead anchor of ANC's On the Money. Mr. Jayson Lo is a known inspirational speaker in the country and is the author of Younique:Understanding Others by Understanding You, a book about how personality styles help identify one's strengths and weaknesses.
Aside from keynote talks, the conference will also feature workshops on character education, multi-level homeschooling, homeschooling through high school, adjusting teaching strategies for effecting learning, and celebrating dads who homeschool. Participants may also opt to attend a Q&A forum where TMA Homeschool will answer questions about homeschooling in the Philippines. Speakers for these sessions are seasoned homeschoolers Donna Simpao, Millona Barraca, Bles de Guzman, Joy Mendoza, and Dennis Sy. Participants may choose one track for each talk happening simultaneously.
Good news right? But here's something even better. If you would like to attend this event happening on March 12, 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center, Mandaluyong City, you can have a chance to get one FREE slot from TMA, Manila Workshops, and the Learning Basket
Here's the simple mechanics:
1. Like TMA's Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/tma.homeschool?fref=ts
2. Like my Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/thereyoujho
3. Comment below: Full name, Email Address and facebook name used to like the pages.
Simple right? So join and let's learn about homeschooling together.
For more info about the event, you may go to this link: http://manilaworkshops.com/events/2015-tma-homeschool-parents-conference-set-them-up-for-success
Rate for the event is at free for TMA members and Php500 for non TMA members.
Blogger Skills: Photography Practice + Giveaway
After attending the Photography Workshop from Mommy Bloggers Philippines last February 21, 2015 at Saboten, Glorietta 5, I have been practicing my new found skills for my recents blog posts or just IG posts.
Now it is time share with you some of my photo practices and tips I have been applying. For me, I have improved a lot and I am challenged to get better. For now enjoy looking at my photos (crossing fingers) and learning from techniques I used.
1. Natural Lighting
"The Best Things in Life are Free" is a phrase you'd probably heard before right? But did you know that you can apply this in photography too? What do I mean by free in Photography? The sun and it's light that is! Taking photos with the sun's natural light do good in your photos. Its all around, and it's free. It makes photos clearer and the details are seen better. Just remember the concept of "Golden Hour" when the sun is not too high making it suitable to take photos. The golden hour is between 8-9 am and 3-4pm or depending on your location.
2. Learn the basics of your Camera
One thing I learned in the photography worksho is that the instrument is only as good as its user. An expensive camera will only take great photos once a photographer knows how to maximize its use.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy Y Duos. I don't really like taking photos from it before because I find my shots crappy. I could not use it at night, can't focus details on my subjects, in short I was unable to give justice to my photos. BUT that was BEFORE.
I learned to maximize my camera settings, experimenting among daylight, cloudy, incandescent and flourescent to get the best setting for my shoot. I also learned to use the exposure so I could shoot at night. Now I am more inlove with my phone because I get wonderful photos now.
3. Props Styling and Creating Stories
This is the tricky part of photography. Translating a story with just the picture is challenging. The goal is to engage your audience to a story for the eyes. You would want to express more than meets the eye. Admittedly, I find this hard because I dont have a lot of props at home but I try to make use of what I have at home.
4. Refer to the Color Wheel.
The best way to take advantage of a product or a subject is to use colors tht complement it. As for me, I look for what will help my subject stand out. The use if the color wheel can assist you on that. Choosing colors can be challenging but when done properly can highlight your subject perfectly.
5. Practice makes Perfect
What is great now is that we use digital photos which means more opportunity to shoot and practice. Save your practice shots and compare so you could see your progress and what needs to be improved on. You would probably get shot which you would totally love. Be proud of it and let people give feedback so you'll learn better.
Hopefully, you learned a tip or two and be motivated by my photos to practice too. (Hehe!) And because I am feeling generous again, I am giving away the products on my 5th photo just in time for the summer. Mechanics will be explained on my next post, so please stay tune!:)

#30on30 Givevaway Part 3: All Things Beauty
It's the last part of my #30on30 and I hope you're all still excited to know what I have in store for all of you.
I apologize for being late again in posting as classes started and I only teach every Friday and Saturday. Got really tired last Friday so I was not able to post my All Things Beauty Set prize.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings, I am giving away a set of beauty products. I am a beauty junkie and make ups are my pockets of sunshine. To tell you honestly, I first intended to make a beauty blog as I wanted to share some affordable make up tips I know. I also attended a Personal make up workshop with Ms. Cielo Frontreras in 2010 and took up a Professional Make Up Artist class under Make Up Artistry. I was also able to book some make up gigs before but did not get a chance to seriously take my business to the next level.
I also conducted make up workshops to friends and a group of staff in school and it truly made me happy. Once a teacher, always a teacher, right? Hihi. So if any of you would like to learn some basic make up skills just comment or email me, and I'd gladly share my knowledge with you. :)
So up for grabs are these lovely prizes:
3 Caronia Nail Polish
1 Skin White lotion
2 Juicy perfume
1 Lewis and Pearl Perfume
2 Wet n Wild lipgloss
2 wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Eyeshadow
1 Evee facial whitening set

#30on30 Part 2: Crafty Artsy Giveaway + More Great News
So anyway, I was not able to post for about four days and my last post was about my "10 Happy Bucket List" and it became part of a book review by another mommy blogger friend Marie of MamaNeesNest You can read her book review here: Mamanee's Nest: Book Review of Love Yourself by Marjorie Duterte and she's also having a giveaway!:)
That day I also received a great news that I got accepted in University of the Philippines Diliman for a Masteral degree I applied for. It has been my long time dream to become a pre-school teacher and I have finally decided to fulfill it. So yey for me! I'll be a student again on Family Life and Child Development!:)
The next day, I had to go to Manila and bring little Enzo to my sister-in-law to get some of my medical requirements for UP. You know, we have been yaya-less since Enzo was born and we're still planning to keep that way. Luckily, I have a sister-in-law who's really very patient to take care of Enzo while we're at work.
Wednesday, came and I tried to enroll in UP but I wasn't able to finish. It was really a gruelling experience (OA lang) but my friends who came from UP said that's really part of being a student there. Nonetheless, I am still excited and ecstatic to start schooling. It means more knowledge to take care of my little boy and to share in this blog too!:)

30 on 30: A Month Long Birthday Celebration and Surprises
Aside from the new year 2015, another celebration I look forward to this year is my birthday. I will be turning 30 years old this 30th of January, which is the reason of this blog title.
I watched from my favorite series FRIENDs about a person's 30th birthday being a milestone. So here's my version of a 30th birthday celebration. I am not much of a party person or a heavy drinker so I decided to celebrate it in this blog. What will make it better is to celebrate by sharing it with you.
Okay, so I made a valid excuse for all of you to get to know me a little bit more. This month long celebration will be about who I am aside from being a mommy blogger. I will let each one of you into my life a lot deeper.
What can you expect from this point on?
I will reveal special milestones with you that I have been preparing for this year. These are plans that I wanted to do ever since but did not have the courage to do so. So I hope this will keep you reading and going back here. I'd love for you to be part of my plans in life.
For now, I would like to reveal to you another surprise that I hope you would like and appreciate too! In celebration of my 30th birthday, I'll be having a giveaway.
It's entitled "30 on 30: A Month Long Birthday Giveaway".
Each Friday of the month, I will start a giveaway in which the prizes will let you know more about me. All giveaways will ens on my birthday and announcement shall be done the week after!:)
I have planned this since last year and hopefully you would love the reveals and prizes I have in store for you.
Btw, I also will include a ThereyouJHO challenge for each winner that will dare you to do something related to me! Did that sound too vain? Haha, I promise to make it worth your time!
I won't make this into a lengthy one and just keep you waiting for now!
