Beauty Review:MeNow Kiss proof Soft Lipsticks

Hello! So for my first post as soon as I announced the blog site's changes is a make up review. Been really shy about posting beauty reviews because I always feel awkward when I do selfies and product shoots but what the heck, I just want to share some of my cheap finds with you all. Hopefully, it can help you find the right product for you!:) hihi! Wishfully thinking, of course. So anyway, there has been a raved in our office about the MeNow Kissproof Soft Lipsticks.

I first got my two MeNow Kissproof Soft Lipsticks last December 2015 after seeing It's me Mamanee tried its long lasting and smudge proof effect. I was really in search of a lipstick that will stay a lot longer on my lips cause I have a tendency to smudge or "eat" it leaving me with my pale looking lips. You don't know how many times people thought I was dizzy because of my pale skin. Anyway, the first two lippies I got was #15 and #16.

MeNow Kiss Proof Soft Lipsticks is made in China and it promises a long lasting, smudge and kissproof matte soft lipsticks. It also states in its box that it hydrates the lips.

Here are my swatches:

Then I got two more MeNow Kiss Proof which are numbers 6, 1 and 13. I am not so much into reds so I gave up number 16 and stuck to my favorite number 15. I always wear number 15 when I teach and its really a great help cause I don't need to retouch over and over in between classes. It keeps me from looking pale but gives off just a nude fresh look.

This is number 15 and what I wore during the Goldilocks Birthday Caravan at Enchanted Kingdom.
My current favorite is number 6 because it fits my lips natural color. I am not as confident to wear red lipsticks so number 6 is just the right color. Not so much nude, but not so red too. (gets nyo ba yun?) haha!:)

Looks really natural and fresh. Mukha naman akong buhay diba hihi!:)

For some of the red lines of MeNow Kissproof, I tried number 1 and 13.

MeNow Kiss Proof #1

MeNow Kiss Proof #13

My thoughts on number 1 and 13: Number 1 is like the color of aratiles. If you're a Filipino I think you'll know what that is. It's a shiny red lips with like glittery color to it. Its redness is also not as loud and it comes close to a maroon shade of red. Number 13, on the other hand,  is perfect for night outs and events. You would really stand out while wearing it while downplaying your eye make up. I like that its matte and it really hightlights the shape of my lips. I am just not a red lipstick wearer but I think I can pull this off for a special occassion.

These are the swatches, haha sorry I take #awkwardselfies but I hope it gives you an idea on how it looks on fair complexion like mine.

General thoughts on MeNow Kiss Proof Soft Lipsticks:
  • A must try and must have for every girl
  • Any age can find the perfect shade for them
  • Long lasting
  • Smudge Proof
  • Dries quickly
  • Kiss Proof!
  • Affordable
Tips on using MeNow Kiss Proof Soft Lipstick:
  • Put it on horizontally on your lips so you can cover your entire lips evenly.
  • Matte lipsticks have a tendency to dry your lips so make sure to prep it up with balm or use balm after using MeNow Kissproof
  •  MeNow Kissproof isn't retractbale as it may seem so it needs a sharpener.
  • Do not put on too many layers of the lipstick because it has a tendency to cake or solidify.
  • Let the lippies dry first before testing its smudge and kiss proof feature.
That's it, I am hoping to get hold of more kissproof lipsticks, if my budget permits so I would update this for you too! If you have tried MeNow Kiss Proof soft lipstick what would you recommend me to get hold of next? Thanks, and hoping to hear your suggestions!:)

Myra VitaSmooth and VitaWhite Facial Wash: Beautiful Inside and Out

I always look forward to December, aside from the usual Christmas celebration I mostly enjoy dressing up and pretty-fying myself for the occassion. In the office, we annually celebrate the season with themes and costumes. I also seriously attend blogging parties. Seriously because I carefully think of my outfit and make up look for the theme. It is during these times that I get to put on more makeup than I usually do on normal days. Though, I enjoy putting on makeup on my face I still get worried about my skin after all the junk I put on it.

Then I discovered, Myra Vita Smooth and Vita White Facial Wash.

After all the make up I put, my skin tends to dry out and break out, losing its healthy glow. Aside from the make up, the cold weather also makes it terrible for my skin to retain moisture.
Myra® VitaSmooth and VitaWhite Facial Wash are multi-benefit products and will be the only facial wash in the market with Vitamin E beads to help keep skin healthy and nourished while riding skin of excess oil and dirt.

I gave Myra Vita Smooth Moisturizing Facial Wash a try, because of my current problem on dryness. You know, it is important to keep our skin and face hydrated so it can prevent wrinkles. Wrinkles mean aged skin so moisturizing can help it maintain is youthfulness. I am more than satisfied with the result of my first use because it hydrated my skin hydrated. It has Moisture Plus Formula that retains and seals in skin's natural moisture, keeping it hydrated and supple.  What I also notice is that after washig with it my skin feel tighter and my pores feel smaller. The French Spring Sea water and Aloe vera ingredients make the skin more elastic, keeping it smooth and youthful. I feel younger with this facial wash.

Myra VitaWhite Whitening Facial Wash has BioWhite Complex which is derived from plant extracts that whitens the skin. I am a sucker for whitening facial washes because I often go outside and do field works so I try to keep my skin smooth and white with facial washes. I also easily get uneven skin tone so it helps me even out my face especially the forehead. Its Niacinamide component reduces red blotches making the skin more radiant. And because its Myra, you can be assured that it is the healthy kind of white.
Myra VitaSmooth and VitaWhite Facial wash are both enriched with Vitamin E beads which protects and nourishes the skin to help keep a youthful glow. It is hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested to be safe for everyday use.
Its SRP is at Php 70 and Php75 respectively. I loved the packaging and size because it is kikay kit and travel friendly. Just the right size to bring anywhere giving you an instant beauty anytime anywhere.

So this Christmas season, make sure you have your preferred Myra Facial wash to keep your skin healthy and beautiful. Now your beauty is inside and out.

K Palette 1 Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner Review

Having asian eyes is sometimes a struggle for me when it comes to eye make up. There are times that when I put on my eyeshadow, I feel like it is too heavy but when I open my eyes, it seems I did not put any. But I learned how to use eye makeup on my monolids through beauty bloggers, and attending free makeup workshops whenever possible. I also realized that to make my Asian eyes pop I had to really learn putting on my eyeliner.

A few months ago I got to try K Palette's product but it was only this month that I tried their eyeliner. I was using another brand so after finishing it up (yes, I am oc and practical like that) I started using K Palette's 1Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner.

Brush like eyeliner pen makes it easy to put on and does not prick the eyes.

Swatched with one stroke, two, and three strokes. Perfect for any type of eyeliner.

Here are some before and after photos:
No eyeliner on this photo just eyeshadow and mascara.
After photo: With K Palette 1 Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner

Closer look: Left without, Right with eyeliner

See how straight and clean my eyeliner is? Really amazing!;)

One more close up.
See how my eyes popped and opened up with eyeliner.

What I love about it:

1. Its brush makes it easier to draw my eyeliner as close to my lashes as possible. Does not hurt or prick my eyes because of the fine bristles it has. Now I don't have to cry or get teary eyed while putting my eyeliner.
2. The flat and fine tip of the brush enables you to draw thin to thick lines on your eyes. Great for those times you need to change your day to night make up.
3. Highly pigmented. You don't need to put on much cause its that pigmented.
4. Smudge proof. The problem with having monolids is that liquid eyeliners easily smudges so I have to wait a few minutes or dry it up in front of the fan. With K Palette 1 Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner, putting on liquid eyeliner has never been this easy for me. It does not smudge even if I brushy finger over it. No more messy eyes for my Asian eyes.
5. Easy to remove. Though it might be smudge proof, removing it isn't so hard. By just washing it with water or make up remover it gets off easily.
6. Cute pink packaging. It suits my pink makeup bag and I love how its soo Kawaii.
7. Price might be a little expensive but for a product that works and gives more than expected, I guess its an investment, plus its liquid so its going to go a long way.

So the verdict: K Palette 1Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner is a monolid or Asian Eyes partner, it makes it easier to put on eyeliner and play with it too. I recommend it for girls who like the natural fresh look and the "no retouch necessary" style. With the easy to apply, and long lasting effect of this liquid eyeliner, there really is a reason to believe that there is magic.

Pink Please: Pink Lipstick Brands Review

NyAfter doing my Finding the Perfect Red, I decided to do another swatch and reviews of my lipsticks. Now, up on the swatch plate are my pink lippies.

For a girl who confesses on not being a lipstick kind of person, I actually have a lot of it. When I go out I usually have just one of my favorite in my kikay kit and use for about a month or so then decide to use another one. I stick to lippies that are closest to my natural color but slowly I am loving pink shades for different occassions.

Let me introduce to you my Pink Lippies:
I have six of them but it looks like I forgot the last one haha! But dont worry, it's just this one pic. I was able to swatch six lippies namely: Revlon's Colorbust in Carnation, Nyx's Matte in Audrey, Happy Skin's Moisturizing Lippie in First Kiss, Maybelline in Pink Please, Flower Fragrance Lipstick, and Winmax Lipstick.

Here are the swatches on my arm in natural light:

Here are the swatches on my lips. Sorry for the awkward smile!;)
From top left to right:
Revlon
Nyx
Happy Skin
Maybelline
Flower Fragrance Lipstick
Winmax Lipstick

All the lippies were just gifts to me, just like the red lippies I have. Such generous friends and family I have right? Haha!

Curious which made it to the top of my list? Before I give you my list here are my criteria: Color, Moisturizing Effect, and Longevity.

In terms of Color, I like natural or close to my lips' color but because this is a Pink lipstick review, I'll be choosing the pinkest of them all.

Moisturizing effect refers to its smooth glide on the lips. My lips tend to dry easily so it's important for me that my lippies are really moisturizing.

Longevity or staying power. As a teacher and a No-retouch-type of girl, I like my lippies to stay on my lips for a longer time. Especially when I teach, my lippies are the least of my worries so I appreciate lippies that stay longer.

On top of my list is Happy Skin's First Kiss:
Still my favorite pink lipstick because the color is really pink, moisturizes my lips really well, and it stays for a long time.

Revlon's Carnation made it to my second top because I love its pink shade, and it stays for a long time, and I use it for photo ops as the color really stands out in the photo.

Maybelline Pink Please is on my top theee because I love its natural pink shade though it does not stay as much as I want it to. It freshens up my look and looks natural on my lips and skin tone.

Nyx Audrey is pretty moisturizing but I only use it for night events as I think the color is too bright to wear during the day.

Winmax is my fifth choice because he color does not show too well on my lips. I had to layer it about 3-4 times before it was evident on my lips.

Flower Fragrance lipstick made it to the last of my lips because I don't prefer lipsticka wih gltters and the scent was just too much for me. The pink color however resembles the Maybelline Pink Please lippies.

So there's my Pink Please review and hopeully it helped you in searching for your own pink lippies. What's your best pink lippie? Please share it with me so I can try too!;)

Finding the Perfect Red: Red Lipstick Brands' Review

I am not a lipstick person, or should I say I don't like looking like I am wearing one. I have always stayed on the nude or natural lipstick color that is closer to my lips.

Just recently, after cleaning up my make up stash I found a lot of red lipsticks. I have about 6 and all were given by friends and families. I got generous loved ones really!!;)

It was also timely as I have finished reading Liz Uy's Stylized book and she wrote something about finding the perfect lipstick as an accessory to an entire get up. That is what prompted me to find my perfect red.

Here are the brands on review:

ELF in Fearless
Bite in Cranberry
Color Collection in Bella
Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Tinted Lip Sheen
Revlon Just Bitten lipbalm in Romantique
Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain+balm in Twilight

So three of it are lipstick while three o it are lipbalms and tint. Here is the swatch of each lippies in the same order above.

I only did one swipe for the five products except for Victoria's secret as it needed more layer so it could be seen on my skin. The next swatch is to test its water resistant ability. I washed my arm with water and see which ones stayed longer.
Revlon Lip Tint and Balm and Bite were the two products that stayed the longest even with water. I also used washcloth on it but it still stayed. Now I know which ones to bring to the beach or a pool party!;)

Here are the swatch I did on my lips next:

For a better comparison, here's a chart of my swatch:

My verdict:

As I don't really like loud lipsticks and wearing a red one is a challenge for me, I'll go for Victoria's Secret Beauty Crush Tinted Lip Sheen because it's moisturizing, glides smoothly on my lips, has a little shine, and is not as bright as the other brands.

2nd is Bite. It is a Canada brand and I like how its redness is not harsh nor too sweet. I don't like too dark red but its color is just enough to compliment my skin.

3rd is Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm. I like its minty taste and I love that I only need to put on one layer and it stick really well. The balm also makes it moisturizing on my lips.

4th Revlon Lip tint and Balm. I like how I can wear it during night events and that it looks elegant on me. The balm is also an added plus as it keeps my lips soft eventhough the color stays for a long time.

5th Color Collection. The color of the lipstick on the tube is a little deceiving. When I saw it I though it was a soft red, but it turned out to be really red. I also sisnt like that I had to layer it a lot of times on my lips just so it would be obvious.

6th ELF. This was my first red lippie and I think it is just too bright for my liking. I always get a remark that my lips is to red when I wear it.

So generally I think I can start wearing red lippies and learn to wear as my accessory. Slowly maybe I can get used to wearing obvious lippies.

Please share with me your favorite red lipstick and maybe I can try them too!;)

Happy Skin's Shut Up and Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippies Review

Hi beautiful readers! If you are from Manila well it has been a fun day for us because its a holiday!;) Happy araw ng Maynila!;)

So last week, I got back to reviewing makeups with Happy Skin's hydrating foundation. I posted this photo as a teaser for my next beauty review:

The Happy Skin's Shut Up and Kiss Me moisturizing lippies in First Kiss shade.

I am a coward in wearing lipsticks. I rarely go for loud colors like red, hot pink, or anything far from my natural lip color. I'd rather wear coral or nude just cause I look really pale without lipstick. Trying out Happy skin's Shut Up and Kiss Me was not an exemption. I actually got this months ago in a Celebrity Mom event for Ms. Maricel Pangilinan's birthday, but only used it recently. I was hesitant that the color would not suit me. I thought it was too pinky and loud for me, which is something that can distract my students in class.

But, I just could not give it up because of all the good reviews I've been hearing about it. Plus I also have a close friend who loves these lippies. So, I finally gave in. And I am glad I did! I only have good things to say about it. Before that here are some basic info about Shut Up and Kiss Me:

Happy Skin lippies offer three-fold "lip service" the shine of a gloss, the pigment of a lipstick, and the hydration of a balm. It has shea butter, collagen, Aloe oil and Jojoba oil among its many ingredients. These ingredients ensure the utmost care for your lips.

How to use: Twist the body of thw lippie to release the product. Line the borders of the lips to define lip shape then fill in the lips with color tocreate a creamy, rich pout.

I gave it a try and sharing my honest to goodness review:

Packaging: Consistently cute and had a feel of vintage to it. The vibrant colors and designs make it an accessories in itself. Such a cute sight inside a kikat kit.
Shade and color: I got the First Kiss shade and although it looked strikingly pink, it becomes lighter once worn on the lips.

Application: Very easy to apply and glides smoothly on the lips. It felt like a lip balm and liquidy when applied on the lips. That was how soft and smooth it is.

Staying power: I applied only once on my lips as I dont like having too much lipstick on. Although I only wore one layer its color already popped and it stay alot longer than expected. I did not have to retouch for more than 6hours and I still had color on my lips.

Moisturizing Effect: I usually get dry lips after wearing lipstick and it was something I was cautious about with Happy Skin as well. Amazingly, it did not make my lips dry. It was really hydrating on the lips and did not feel heavy as well.

Smell and Taste: Yes I have a tendency of smelling and tasting my lipsticks. What is great about it is that it did not smell and tasted chemical. Sometimes there are lipsticks that tastes like that and smells like fragrances.

Overall Rating:
Happy Skin's Shut Up and Kiss Me is a must-try for lipstick and makeup enthusiasts. Its moisturizing power helps lips stay hydrated and luscious with the variety of shades available. They have a wide range of shades that would definitely suit anyone and everyone.
