E-Commerce Entrepreneurs Summit Manila 2015: Why you NEED to be there

E-Commerce or Electronic Commerce is trading in products or services using the internet. If you have not known of this word yet, then maybe Grabcar, Globe G-Cash, Smart Money, etc. are examples of it. In the digital world, almost anyone, and anywhere people can buy anything and everything they need through the use of internet using the PC, or even through Smart Phones.

Thus, entrepreneurs and companies take advantage of this advancement to come closer to their customers and give them reliable and effective service. Have you ever been to the bank yo deposit your money and wasted long hours on the line? Or wanted to order food from your favorite resto but can get through their phone lines?

I once had an online shop where all transactions were done online. I did not so any meet ups as I had to work from home and attend to my newborn. The internet made it all possible as I could monitor all deposits made by my clients through online banking and can schedule pick ups from couriers all through the use of internet.

My logo summarizes what E-Commerce has done for small and medium enterprises. It has provided a lot of opportunities for moms like me to work while staying hands on parents. Though this was only shortlived. I lack the necessary skills to make it grow even more.

E-commerce has made life easier for most people as it helped us become more productive with the use of internet. As much as a lot of companies have done this, not all people are aware of this services which is why you need to go to the 7th DigitalFilipino E-Commerce Summit with this year's theme E-Commerce for Economic Growth. The summit will happen on August 29,2015 at the Ballroom of Best Western Plus Antel, Hotel Makati Ave , Makati City.

Many people wants their own business, some even have bright ideas for fresh business but lacks the skills on marketing and e-commerce. Start ups are an inspiring and motivating stories to hear and they will be sharing their triumphs and journey with E-Commerce

3. Network.
Knowing and connecting with people and e-commerce experts online and offline will help build your business in e-commerce strategies. You can also have an instant support group and friends that will assist you in your business strategies using e-commerce.

Hands On Parents while Earning (HOPE) Summit: Learn, Network, Win, Shop!

Being a hands on parent is the most fulfilling job I have ever done. Ever since I became a mom, me and my hubby were the primary caregiver of our little boy. It is an achieve I celebrate everyday as I witness every milestone of our child. This is beneficial to us as we understand him very well and can cope up with his tantrums or moods. I get to know my child very well especially his temperament and his learning style which makes taking care of him easier at times. (You know, it is always a challenge to raise a toddler right?)

Although, I am a hands on Mom, I also work and study part time. I work as a college teacher and I am pursuing my Masters degree at the same time. I think I have been blessed both with an institution that has provided for my family's needs while pursuing my own dreams and having the family and extended family who supports us in taking care of Enzo. I am deeply grateful for being able to bring money to the household while taking care of the family.

Such story is not new, a lot of moms, and dads have been multitasking as provider and nurturer to the family. Together these experts will be in the Hands-On Parents while Earning (H.O.P.E) Summit this coming Saturday, August 8 from 830-530PM at the 3/F AVR. PLDT Teletech Building, Boni Ave Mandaluyong City.

The Main speaker and Facilitator is the best selling author and motivational speaker Teresa Gumap-as Dumadag, an expert in designing programs  who is an expert in designing programs used locally and abroad and in helping people grow and achieve their goals, will be the main speaker and facilitator of the workshop. The other speakers in the summit include Martine de Luna, Jomar Hilario and Ginger Arboleda. De Luna is a work-at-home advocate, award winning blogger and blog coach. Hilario is the Philippines’ Internet Marketing Guru who teaches individuals how to be virtual professionals and online business owners. Arboleda is a serial entrepreneur, business coach and blogger. All the speakers are hands-on parents to their kids while running their respective businesses.

"Being able to work with a lot of flexibility has been one of the biggest blessings I have received in life," Gumap-as Dumadag shares. "I was able to witness all my children’s milestones, personally take care of them and breastfeed them because I am home almost all the time. I am able to shape my children’s character and educate them while pursuing my passions and earning through these passions. I want to share what I have learned through the years to my fellow parents so that they too can spend ample time with their children while contributing to the family income. This is my way of helping families grow and remain intact.”

The HOPE Summit is a one day workshop workshop on hands-on parenting and working smart in the new millennium seeks to inspire and teach parents how to marry hands-on parenting with earning for the family.

Below are the workshop’s objectives:
to enable parents to discover their big why in aspiring to be Hands-On Parents while Earning (HOPE).
to enable parents to come up with a clear and compelling vision for their children and for themselves as parents and as earning individuals.
to help parents to come up with a list of new habits that they can easily and consistently implement after the workshop so they can be more involved in their children’s lives.
to help parents discover ways to work smarter so they can free up more time in their schedules to bond with their children.
to inspire moms and dads to be hands-on even while earning for their families and to learn tips and strategies on how to be successful in their careers/businesses through the stories of the featured moms and dads (guests) in the iHOPE Summit.
to introduce different earning options for parents while being actively involved in their children’s lives.
to give parents an opportunity to meet and interact with other parents who also want to become H.O.P.E. (Hands-On Parents while Earning).

The workshop is valued at P3,500 per head at least but Gumap-as Dumadag wanted to help as many families as she can; so, she found a way to make the workshop more affordable to parents. Thus, attendees get a 43% discounted rate even as they pay the regular rate of P2,000 per head. Couples are encouraged to attend together through the couple rate of P3,000 only. Click here to read more details about the summit and to register to this life-changing event.

Tips to Let Kids Enjoy Their Meals At School

Any parent with young children would admit that nothing can be more mentally draining than going through the painstaking process of preparing healthy meals for their kids’ baon.

Unfortunately, a lot of little fussy eaters have a tendency to wrinkletheir noses, make faces, or deliberately gag on their food and bring home their baon. Thus, every meal has the potential of becoming a battle between you and your children. This shouldn’t be the case!Meal time is NEVER meant to become a fight.

Revive the fun in your child’s lunchtime! Accept the stage where your kids are s-l-o-w-l-y learning to adjust to a new school-year and to eating packed lunch with foods that are new to them, and save yourself from losing your sanity over unfinished food. Here  are parenting hacks that may help:

Hack #1: Little eaters need rules
Granted, it’s a parent’s instinct to set rules and standards for thekids. But there will always be a part of you that’s afraid of being too stiff because you don’t want your children to rebel. You know what? The whole “rules = rebellion” belief is a myth. Studies say moms and dads who set ground rules for their children are also thewarmest of parents.

Don’t hesitate to start a “No-Thank-You Bite Rule” for your little picky-eaters as early as now. If they say no from eating the meal, require them to at least take one big bite or two small bites of the food. That way, you will still get to make them have some food in their stomach for the remainder of their classes. Who knows, theymight realize they are hungry and like their baon after all.

Here’s the catch: warm parents set rules. Controlling parents rub rules on the faces of their children. This calls for balance. Loosen up! Let go of the all-mighty “Clean-Your-Plate Rule” you grew up with. Stop forcing your kids to eat everything, even the small bits to pieces, just to win the power-struggle over food.

Children know when they are full so allow them to stop eating when they want toTo avoid food wastage, serve them small portions but give them an opportunity to ask for more. Make their mealtime at school a way to strengthen your bond and instill independence in them, not to create gaps.

Hack #2: Welcome kids in the kitchen
Invite your kids to help out in the kitchen. By doing this, you’ll give them an idea what it takes to prepare their food. Letting them helpand allowing them to frequently assist you in the kitchen will make them want to try and sample the food they’ve helped prepare.

Hack #3: Be creative!
Presentation is key to making a meal more enjoyable. Children, being very observant, may be more persuaded to eat if what they see looks attractive. This is also one way of masking nourishing ingredients for your little ones.

The best hiding options? Grate, wrap, blend, or mix!

What comes in handy for all the aesthetically pleasing healthy mealsis an equally attractive food container. Tupperware Brands introduces its Small Square Rounds to solve that for you. This is downright perfect for starting up a kitchen collection, too!

The Small Square Rounds have virtually airtight seals that keep food fresh and flavorful. With a tab on the seal for easy opening, this food container is also modular and stackable. You may use it in the fridge, bring to outdoor activities, or use for organizing. TheSmall Square Rounds comes in four great colors: lime aid, grape fizz, pink punch, and orange peel.

Mealtime is not just about healthy eating; it also entails taking in thewater your body needs! Pair up your kids’ Tupperware Small Square Rounds with the Kids Eco Bottle. This comes with a sipper seal spout for convenient drinking and a tight-screw-on cap that prevents leaks. Made of safe, non-toxic materials, the Kids Eco Bottle has two fun character shapes: a frog in lime aid color and a purlicious (purple) penguin.

Make it a habit to prepare well-balanced and healthy meals and get your kids involvedDon’t forget to brighten up children’s luncheswith Tupperware’s Small Square Rounds and the Kids Eco Bottleso you can make every mealtime at school fun and meaningful for your kids.

Museo Pambata: Your Next Playdate Venue Part 1

Playdates are important in a child's development. They learn to socialize with other children of different ages which helps them discover learnings, identify different emotions, and how to appropriately behave with other little people like them. I look forward to playdate because what challenges our condo living is finding playmates for Enzo.

Last two weeks ago, an overdue playdate with my other Mommy bloggers finally happened. We decided to visit Museo Pambata because its the nearest playdat venue for all of us, and we haven't been there yet. Although I have been there twice already, I was super excited that time because it was Enzo's first time.

Museo Pambata is a children's discovery museum and resource center promoting Filipino culture, children's advocacirs and creative educational programs with linkages to global communities.

Enzo and I came a little early so he had aome time to toam around the entrance and lobby while I took some photos.
At the ride part of Museo is a playground and a helicopter display. Enzo got interested and curios to play on it but I got hesitant at first because it looked kinda worn out and the grass was already tall. I was afraid he might get bruised by the metals on the playground and catch dengue because of the grass and the water from after the rain. I hope they do something about it too.

So anyway, we decided to enter the museum as we wait for our other playmates and Enzo was getting a little excited to see what was inside and it was also getting hot by that time. We wete there by 1pm so the sun was really scorching hot.

What's inside Museo Pambata?

Maynila Noon/Old Manila
The first exhibit at the right side of the lobby is a journey back to turn-of-the-century Manila! There is a tranvia, a Spanish Galleon with different herbs and spices, a miniature Cathedral and bahay na bato.

Kalikasan/Environment
Adjacent to the Maynila Noon, is the Kalikasan/Environment room. It has a simulated rainforest, rice field, and seabed that teaches children to preserve the Mother Nature. The kids spent a lot of time running around this room plus the slide was a total hit. The tunnel that looked like a burrow was also an instant play area to the kids and they looked like creepy creatures er... Cute creatures actually!;)

At the second floor of the museum, the other remaining five (5) galleries are there. At the left side of the stairs is the Katawan Ko/My Body Works. It was one of the most interesting galleries for em as I enjoyed all of the activities there. The place looked like an inside of the mouth literally. It helps children understand how he different body organ works in harmony to keep he body functioning.

The kids and us mommies stayed a lot longer here because of the tunnels and the shadow play. The entire place was a body at large and lessons about the organs were endless. The kids really enjoyed their time there.

Please stay tuned on my next post about the other galleries and exhibits in Museo Pambata. There are fou (4) more interesting places inside that will keep your children's minds stimulated and their creativity and imagination challenged. See you all tomorrow!;)

Ensogo App: Easy Shopping at your Fingertips for the Whole Family

I love online shopping! I am one of those people who spends time (a lot actually) in shopping online for products such as gadgets, food, spa vouchers, and stay-cations. It was so easy before because I was always in front of the computer and it is super convenient for me.

But as I started working part time, and being a mom, I rarely get the chance to shop online or even browse for promos and discounts. It was a little hard for me to sit in front of the computer and do online shopping. I often do my social media browsing through my phone now because it is easy, and convenient.

Gladly, I have found an easy applications that is available on IOS and Android phone, which is Ensogo.
Ensogo Philippines officially announces the release of their newly developed mobile app for Android, ensuring that users can now have quick access to the best offers in the market for a more convenient mobile shopping experience. Ensogo understands how important mobile is for today’s consumers’ lifestyle, and this is just one of the many developments the company has in store for this year, following the recent series of funding amounting to AU$55 million (PHP 1.8 billion).

Once you download the app it is easy to log-in as you can connect your Facebook account on Ensogo. After installing the application, user can choose in the country locations, and start searching for deals and promos.

July Manila Workshops: From Womb to Teenage years

It's been awhile since I posted about Manila Workshops event and activities, and I truly apologize for that. I'm sure you miss having updates on their workshops, especially that their events are really practical, informative, and helpful to everyone. It is such a nice feeling knowing that a group of private individuals have families, like us and our needs in mind, and that their main objective is to educate and empower each individual.

With that, I am sharing with you this month of July's Manila Workshops that I entitled from Womb to Teenage Years. I got pretty excited learning about their upcoming workshops as it directly answers different questions or concerns that we have as parents, or as moms to our children. Manila Workshops has indeed created events that will guide us through this journey.

For Expecting Parents:
Pregnancy and giving birth can be both exciting and confusing at the same time. I remembered my days of panic and confusion with my first born and getting all the help we can get in this stage is important. But what better way to prepare but to learn ahead of time, before the baby is even born.
Preparing for Baby's Birth Day on July 25, 2015 1-5pm at The Parenting Emporium, QC

After the baby is born, some would prefer to have a yaya to help with the home making or assist in child rearing. For working moms, a yaya is necessary. So to prevent #YayaProblems, why not send your Yayas to training and equip them with practical skills to help them fulfill their jobs better.
Basic Yaya Training is a series of sessions from care, basic first aid, and money management.
Venue: Mothercare Podium
Time:1:00-5:00

Now as time flies really fast, we'll be surprised how our children have become teenagers already. Being teenagers before, parents should recognize possible struggles and issues of teenagers and help them overcome these. Luckily, Manila Workshops have designed a series of sessions that could promote character development in teenagers and help them Win in Life.

Sessions include:
Developing your Person
Expressing Yourself
balancing Lofe
Becoming Culturally Sensitive

Learning fee is Php1000 per person.
Venue: BGC

Whatever stage or phase in parenting you are, there is help always avaialable for you. Check out these workhops and hoose what best fits you!;)
